Methyl Isobutyl Carbinol (MIBC) is a colorless stable liquid with a mild alcohol odor. It is miscible with most common organic solvents, and slightly soluble in water. MIBC is used as a frother in the flotation process in the mining of ores, such as copper and molybdenum sulfide, as well as coal.
